Former prison East Granby, CT

Chartered as a copper mine in 1707, the site became Connecticut's first state prison in 1773, holding inmates in the dark mine tunnels until 1827. Visitors describe chills and an oppressive feeling deep underground, and the state museum hosts seasonal evening events in the mine.

Union Cemetery

Cemetery Easton, CT

This small historic cemetery beside a country road is known for the legend of the "White Lady," a figure in a white gown said to appear among the stones and along the road. Paranormal investigators publicized the story in the late 20th century, and local police patrol the grounds at night.
